Ebba Mikkelsen var 18 år, da hun i 1943 meldte sig til tjeneste som dansk sygeplejerske i Tysk Røde Kors. The Typhoon was the RAF’s chosen heavyweight fighter-bomber to support the British and Canadian armies during the invasion of northwest Europe, and the 20 squadrons in the 2nd TAF that flew the aircraft should appear in any list of ‘war-winners’.
