Catalog of sculptures by Vinnie Ream including her most famous work, the statue of Abraham Lincoln in the U.S. Capitol rotunda. On title page: "Printed for private distribution only to preserve a few souvenirs of the artist life from 1865 to 1878". The famous Danish critic Georg Brandes met Vinnie Ream on a train in Italy in 1873 and in his memoirs he has written about the encounter, which is rendered here in an English translation. This copy comes from the library of Georg Brandes. Free endpapers somewhat creased.
