118 pp., softcover, 60 b/w photographs throughout. Cover with signs of wear. The author, father Jean Jacques Corbeil, was a French Canadian Roman Catholic missionary who documented the traditional culture of Zambia's Bemba people. He collected artifacts and oral poetry during the middle of the twentieth century and published this book with photos and descriptions together with alphabetical index of 117 Mbusa songs with their interpretations. Inscribed by the author on the half title: "Hoping this book will help you to understand the beautiful Zambian culture, February 1984, J.J. Corbeil". A separate type-written note is pasted onto the half title: "As I had no money to get the book printed, "Afro-Art" accepted to face the expences for me. Both, Afro-Art and I agreed that the copyright should belong to Moto Moto Museum" - signed in hand by J.J. Corbeil. Part of his collection is now housed at the University of Zambia.
